I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that this blog does not feature enough chocolate recipes, right? I know. I was thinking the same thought.

Actually, I was kind of thinking the exact opposite thought, that perhaps there might be too much of a focus on unhealthy chocolate desserts. Things have got to change. This is, after all, sometimes a blog about stuff that is good for you.

Which is why today I’m gonna offer you up a chocolate recipe that not only tastes delicious, but is also nutritionally beneficial. This easy chocolate fudge is raw, free of dairy, gluten, or processed sugar, and filled with health benefits.

Four simple ingredients are blended together to create a rich chocolate treat that even health food haters will enjoy. Let’s break it down:

Almond Butter (which I will probably marry one day) is high in protein, fiber, and essential fatty acids:

Raw Cacao, a powder from raw cacao (cocoa) beans, is high in antioxidants, minerals, essential fats, and neurotransmiters that boost endorphins and seratonin, the “feel good” chemicals in the brain:

Agave Nectar is a neutral-flavored natural sweetner from the agave cactus. It is low-glycemic so will not spike blood sugar levels and is made up of fructose, the same sugar present in fruits and vegetables:

and Walnuts, a crunchy, flavorful addition filled with omega-3’s, heart-healthy cholesterol lowering compounds, and immune system support:

After mixing the fudge I spread it in tupperware and take a piece (or three) whenever the craving (which is always) comes along. Check out the recipe here, along with many other amazing recipes.

Before you go I’ll just letcha know that if you don’t have a food processor to make almond butter from scratch, use raw almond butter that is sold in stores. Have fun and remember, desserts are the gateway into the raw food world so open your mind, and your mouth, to a wonderful new cuisine.
